U4GM Guide to Path of Exile Roths Reach Projectiles

When comparing equipment through resources such as Path of exile currency, it is easy to focus on damage rolls and overlook projectile behavior. Roth’s Reach Recurve Bow rewards the opposite approach. Its signature modifier allows skills to chain two additional times, potentially changing how a compatible attack moves through a group. Understanding that behavior helps explain both the weapon’s appeal and the situations where its benefits become much less pronounced.

A chain occurs when an eligible projectile redirects from one enemy toward another available target. The important word is eligible: the skill and its other mechanics must allow the interaction. Additional chains extend that sequence, but they do not generate an independent set of projectiles at the moment of firing. This distinction matters because coverage, projectile count, and damage per hit are related concepts rather than interchangeable descriptions of the same benefit.

Enemy arrangement strongly influences the result. Several nearby targets may provide a useful path for a chaining projectile, while a scattered group may not offer the same opportunities. An isolated enemy provides fewer possibilities still. Consequently, a weapon can feel excellent in dense encounters without delivering a comparable improvement against a lone boss. That outcome is not necessarily a malfunction; it reflects the difference between clearing utility and concentrated damage.

Other projectile behaviors also deserve attention. Pierce, fork, and chain are not simply three identical bonuses that can be stacked without considering their interactions. Adding a support or equipment modifier may change when a projectile becomes available to chain. Rather than relying on the wording of one modifier in isolation, inspect the complete setup and test its behavior. A mechanically compatible configuration matters more than collecting several attractive projectile keywords.

Roth’s Reach also grants increased projectile speed. This changes projectile travel characteristics, but should not be confused with attack speed. The current bow has a base attack rate of 1.25 attacks per second and does not carry the older unique attack-speed modifier found on legacy versions. Faster-traveling projectiles can affect the feel of combat, yet that does not mean the character fires attacks more frequently simply by equipping the weapon.

Its damage modifiers operate on another layer. Increased physical damage improves the weapon’s physical component, while increased elemental damage with attack skills scales relevant elemental attack damage. Neither modifier makes chaining itself a direct damage multiplier. To evaluate the complete item, ask separate questions: how much damage does each hit deal, how often do attacks occur, and how effectively do those hits reach useful targets? Combining those answers produces a clearer assessment.

A simple testing routine can expose misleading impressions. Use the same skill links and comparable conditions, then alternate between Roth’s Reach and another candidate. Observe ordinary packs, scattered enemies, and tougher isolated targets. Record whether the improvement comes from fewer attacks, easier targeting, or shorter travel delays. Players comparing clearing philosophies may also find the EK Ignite Elementalist build discussion useful, although its damage-spreading mechanics should not be treated as identical to bow chaining.

Explore U4GM’s Path of Exile section as a companion destination while researching these equipment choices. Its linked currency pages can be part of your browsing process, but mechanical testing should remain independent of promotional language. A weapon’s value depends on the interaction it creates within a particular character. No general claim about affordability or convenience can establish whether your selected projectile actually gains the coverage you expect.

Roth’s Reach becomes easier to judge once chaining is treated as a targeting tool rather than a promise of universal damage gains. Build around compatible behavior, supply appropriate damage, and test situations where nearby targets are scarce. U4GM welcomes readers exploring cheap POE orbs, but a well-understood interaction is the stronger foundation for progression. The right purchase cannot substitute for knowing what happens after the first projectile hits.
