U4GM Helps Compare ARC Raiders Heavy Weapons

Heavy Ammo is not something most players want to waste, especially when a Tier IV upgrade is on the table. Anvil IV and Bettina IV may share that ammo type, but they ask you to play in very different ways. Anvil is a hand cannon built around timing, accuracy, and quick bursts of damage. Bettina is an automatic rifle that keeps pressure on a target while you stay in the fight. Before spending your ARC Raiders BluePrints, it is worth thinking about the situations you face most often, not just the weapon that looks stronger on paper.

Anvil IV Rewards Confidence

Anvil IV tends to make a strong impression the first time you land a clean hit. Its damage per shot is high, and its armour penetration gives it real bite against both Raiders and tougher ARC units. A few accurate rounds can change a fight quickly. That matters in PvP, where standing exposed for too long usually ends badly. You can lean out from cover, fire, and move before the other player has time to settle their aim. The weapon also carries less weight than many heavy options, so it does not feel quite as awkward when you are repositioning. There is a catch, though. Missed shots hurt. Anvil does not forgive panic firing or poor timing, and players who struggle with precision may find it frustrating during longer encounters.

Why Tier IV Changes Anvil's Feel

The jump to Tier IV gives Anvil more than a small numbers boost. Its improved fire rate makes follow-up shots feel much less sluggish, which is important when the first round cracks armour but does not finish the job. You still get the heavy hit that makes the weapon useful, yet you can respond faster when a target slides behind cover, pushes your position, or appears with a teammate. Ammo use is another reason people lean towards Anvil as their first heavy upgrade. Since each round does a lot of work, careful players can stretch a limited supply through several fights. You will still need to manage your shots, but you are less likely to burn through Heavy Ammo simply trying to keep an enemy pinned down.

Where Bettina IV Makes More Sense

Bettina IV is easier to handle when a fight becomes messy. Its automatic fire gives you room to correct your aim, and the larger magazine helps when a single target is not the only problem. That is useful during ARC encounters, particularly when several enemies arrive from different angles or when armour takes more time to break. Bettina can also hold a medium-range lane while a teammate moves, heals, or searches a downed enemy. It is not as explosive as Anvil, but steady damage has its own value. Recent balance changes have made it more reliable against armoured ARC units, so PvE-focused players should not dismiss it as a weaker alternative. Bettina does ask for more ammunition, and spraying without control can empty a magazine before you have achieved much. Short bursts work better than holding the trigger whenever the target is beyond close range.

Match the Upgrade to Your Routine

There is no need to copy the choice made by a streamer or by the player with the highest extraction count. Pay attention to your own failed fights. If you usually take a position, wait for an opening, and trust yourself to hit the head or chest, Anvil IV will probably give you more value. It suits aggressive peeks, surprise attacks, and small-team PvP where one fast elimination can decide the engagement. Bettina IV is a better fit if you spend most of your time clearing ARC sites, fighting at medium distance, or supporting a squad that needs constant covering fire. Your team composition matters as well. A player carrying Anvil can punish an exposed Raider, while a Bettina user can keep enemies busy and create space for a revive. Try both weapons in ordinary runs before committing rare parts. Also leave some materials and coins untouched for repairs, crafting, and the next piece of gear that suddenly becomes essential.

Final Thoughts

Anvil IV is the more rewarding first upgrade for players who value burst damage, efficient ammo use, and sharp PvP pressure. Its Tier IV fire-rate improvement makes the weapon more forgiving without taking away its punch. Bettina IV deserves priority when sustained fire is more useful to you than instant damage, especially in extended PvE runs or organised squad play. The sensible choice is the gun that matches what you actually do in a match.
